The island runs roughly four miles from the Blackburn Point Road bridge at the north end - the only vehicular access point - to the private road at the southern terminus that connects to a handful of estates. There is no commercial district, no beach access parking, and no through traffic from non-residents. The island's year-round and seasonal population is small and private by design. Many properties have changed hands within the same family or small referral network. In this context, building a pool is not a decision made casually, and the builder chosen to do it is selected with the same care as any other significant decision.
